Inspired by a two‑month painting trip to Brazil, the artwork is built from hand‑painted, collaged papers - each one painted on location - embedding the landscape directly into the material. Its layered composition draws on the physical qualities of the forest, from filtered light to humidity and dense plant life, while referencing the Afro‑Brazilian practice of Banho de Folhas to explore cleansing and renewal in a tactile, abstract way.
